About The Position

VML Canada is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Salesforce Quality Assurance Analyst (Email Specialist) for a 6-month contract (maternity leave replacement). In this role, you will be the final gatekeeper, ensuring our digital communications are flawless before they reach millions of customer inboxes. Working on one of our largest and most dynamic brand accounts, you will validate email content against copy decks and visual design files. You will also perform comprehensive rendering tests across modern devices and email clients, and leverage Salesforce Marketing Cloud to ensure customer journeys and targeting data are perfectly aligned. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for email marketing technology, and a structured testing approach, we want you on our team starting July 28, 2026.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of Quality Assurance (QA) experience focused specifically on email marketing campaigns and digital QA.
  • Email QA Tools: Demonstrated experience with email testing and rendering platforms, specifically Litmus or Email on Acid.
  • Task Tracking and Workflow: High proficiency in Jira for bug tracking, task prioritization, and agile workflows.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent visual and copy QA skills, with the ability to spot the slightest inconsistencies between creative assets, output code, and copy decks.
  • Availability: Must be available to start the 6-month contract on July 28, 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC): Basic to intermediate knowledge of SFMC (particularly Journey Builder, Email Studio, and Data Extensions) is a major asset for validating journey structures and data targeting accuracy.
  • Bilingualism: Professional fluency in English and French (highly valued for our Montreal/Toronto inter-office operations).
  • HTML/CSS Basics: Foundational understanding of HTML/CSS code structures as applied to emails to expedite troubleshooting with the technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Visual and Content Validation of Emails: Verify Copydecks: Ensure all email copy, messaging, subject lines, and pre-headers produced precisely match approved client copy decks. Design Compliance: Compare email layouts, imagery, spacing, and visual styling against design mockups to guarantee perfect brand consistency and pixel-perfect execution. Link and Dynamic Content Audit: Verify that all hyperlinks, calls-to-action (CTAs), and dynamic content blocks lead to the correct destinations and display appropriate localized content.
  • Email Rendering and Functional QA: Real Device and Client Testing: Manually check and interact with emails across live email clients (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) on desktop browsers and mobile devices to ensure proper functionality and layout. Cross-Platform Verification: Utilize industry-standard testing tools like Litmus or Email on Acid to validate rendering consistency across dozens of email client combinations (legacy and modern). Interactive Element Validation: Test all interactive elements, fallback states, and responsive breakpoints to ensure full responsiveness.
  • Platform, Journey, and Data QA: Journey Builder (SFMC) Audit: Ensure automated customer journeys and triggered email flows within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) are configured correctly, with logical flows functioning as intended. Audience Targeting Validation: Validate that production data extensions, suppression lists, and audience filters are correctly targeted so the right message reaches the right audience segment.
  • Collaboration and Tracking: Defect Management: Log, track, and manage QA findings, bugs, and alignment issues within Jira, providing clear, actionable resolution steps for development and campaign teams. Team Alignment: Work closely with email developers, campaign operations, and account management to facilitate rapid bug resolution under tight deadlines.
