About The Position

Financial Technology Partners (“FT Partners”) is seeking Analysts for its Special Executions Group (“SpecialX”). SpecialX is FT Partners’ quantitative engine, operating at the intersection of finance & data science. We support and work closely with investment banking teams, but our focus is different. We go deep into the numbers to make sure every analysis we produce can stand up to the scrutiny of investors during buyer diligence. SpecialX analysts focus on analyzing complex financial datasets to uncover insights that support investment theses, validate growth initiatives, and ensure the credibility of financial KPIs & narratives presented to investors. SpecialX analysts develop strong financial and analytical skills while working on live transactions. Analysts will gain hands-on experience working with large datasets, while learning how to translate complex data into clear and compelling insights for clients and investors.

Requirements

  • Graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
  • Major in Finance & Data Science (combined), Quantitative Finance, or Business Analytics required
  • Experience with SQL or Python required
  • Minimum 3.6 GPA required
  • 1400 SAT / 30 ACT required
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization required. FT Partners will not sponsor applicants for work visas at application or in the future
  • Foundational data analytics and financial analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting & finance concepts
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technical tools and analytical techniques
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to articulate methods and results of complex analyses

Responsibilities

  • Support & work alongside investment bankers and clients to understand critical financial & business drivers
  • Analyze financial datasets to develop quantitative narratives driving company growth and performance. Build data visualizations, models, and reporting to communicate key findings to clients and investors
  • Lead core financial workstreams including cohort analysis, retention analysis, unit economics analysis, sales efficiency analysis, and other growth initiatives validation
