The Strategic Sourcing Analyst – Chemicals, or potentially Sr Analyst depending on experience, will support sourcing initiatives for ITW’s Global Chemicals Spend. This onsite role, located at ITW headquarters in the Chicago suburbs, will contribute to developing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies for critical cross-segment chemical categories and define actionable steps to deliver business value. This position is an excellent career development opportunity for individuals with a science or engineering background interested in market research, sourcing strategy, and business analysis. The analyst will conduct market research, engage with suppliers (manufacturers and channel partners) across various chemical commodities and derivatives, assess market price drivers and trends, and support business sourcing priorities. Responsibilities also include risk mitigation assessments, cost modeling, contract negotiation support, and contributions to sustainability and supplier diversity efforts. Knowledge or experience in chemicals, chemical engineering, materials science & engineering, or polymer science is beneficial.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree specifically in either Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or Polymer Science is required.
1-3 years of relevant experience
Strong data analysis capabilities using Excel, Power BI, and other relevant software systems
Willingness to travel up to 20%
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Technical inclination and intellectual curiosity
Ability to work 5 days a week onsite in the office at the Glenview, IL corporate campus with flexibility in hours.
