Job Summary: We are looking for an Analyst to work on the Real Estate Investment Management team, which is responsible for all real estate investments including acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio and asset management, developments and debt. The Analyst will support the North American Real Estate Investment team, with a sector focus on residential, student housing, private credit, and retail/mixed-use portfolios across the U.S. and Canadian markets.

Requirements

  • Completion of a university degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with a strong academic record. Other degrees may also be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the commercial real estate industry with a focus on investment, development or asset management.
  • Proficient understanding of property valuation, financial underwriting and forecasting principles and techniques, and advanced financial modelling skills.
  • Advanced excel and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills, together with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Positive and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis and evaluation of acquisitions and dispositions, including underwriting, due diligence, and preparation of investment approval materials.
  • Support Team Members in driving the performance of the assigned portfolio(s). This includes evaluating annual asset plans, major leasing transactions, leasing strategies, development oversight, valuation process, and capital expenditures.
  • Support the analysis and evaluation of value-add and development opportunities within the portfolio and assist in tracking the progression of projects through execution.
  • Assist in hold / sell analysis and other portfolio-level evaluations to support overall portfolio strategy.
  • Monitor economic, investment, and leasing market fundamentals to develop an understanding of long-term trends impacting portfolio performance across assigned sectors and markets.
  • Participate in property tours and market visits in support of portfolio monitoring and transaction evaluation.
  • Contribute to Real Estate team programs including overall portfolio level strategy, sustainability, risk management, and new technology initiatives.
  • Support transaction tracking, reporting and data management tools, including maintaining deal pipelines, dashboards and reporting inputs for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences and meetings to develop industry networks, build relationships with peers and partners, and gain market knowledge.
