Analyst, Project Development

Summit Ridge EnergyArlington, VA
Onsite

About The Position

Summit Ridge Energy ("SRE") is seeking a Project Development Analyst who will provide project and portfolio-level support, ensuring SRE solar development assets obtain the necessary approvals to reach construction-ready status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant professional experience (internships count)
  • Sharp organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously against tight deadlines
  • Comfort working with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar) to assess site restrictions, terrain, floodplains, easements, and other constraints (preferred)
  • A natural relationship-builder, someone who can earn trust with local communities, permitting authorities, and development partners
  • A problem-solving mindset: you look for the path forward rather than just flagging the obstacle
  • Willingness to travel 15–20% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate entitlement, interconnection, and permitting efforts across a defined market, keeping projects on schedule and on budget
  • Support and monitor internal delivery teams to keep tasks moving and on time
  • Own quality control for internal and external development data rooms
  • Track and prioritize multiple project workstreams at once, staying ahead of shifting deadlines
  • Partner with SRE's engineering team on proposed site layouts and designs, and help problem-solve around environmental, permitting, or interconnection constraints
  • Track programmatic and interconnection requirements across the portfolio, confirming they're met for every assigned project
  • Flag project-level development risks clearly and early to the development team
  • Gather and analyze data to assess the technical and economic feasibility of projects at different development stages, and make viability recommendations to the team
  • Build real relationships with local permitting authorities, utilities, community members, and third-party developers
  • Manage third-party contracts with technical, environmental, and interconnection consultants supporting our development work
