About The Position

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Analyst to join our Health Information Management team. This position plays an important role in maintaining complete and accurate patient medical records while ensuring compliance with hospital, state, Joint Commission, and confidentiality requirements. The Medical Records Analyst prepares, scans, analyzes, and maintains medical records while supporting physicians, patients, and other hospital departments with record-related needs.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills.
• Effective and professional communication, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in an office setting, particularly a medical office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, scan, and analyze discharged patient medical records for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and enter documentation deficiencies for physician completion.
• Retrieve and process medical record requests in a timely manner.
• Assist patients with medical record and patient portal requests.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of patient information.
• Run census and other reports in Meditech and assist with importing reports as needed.
• Maintain physician delinquency information and assist with record completion.
• Cross-train and provide support in other HIM functions as needed.
