About The Position

The Analyst, Investment Operations is the subject matter expert for all WAPC reporting to and for the ICPMs. The Analyst is the primary contact and responsible for all partner data reconciliation and reporting activities across WAPC. The Analyst also works closely with the Lead Process Specialist to document and review reporting processes, with a keen focus on identifying potential improvements to enhance overall efficiency. This individual will ideally be highly proficient in Excel, allowing for relatively seamless integration of new reporting requests.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ of wealth management/financial industry experience, preferably in an administrative or operational capacity.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a client-service facing role/inside sales
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, notably Excel; experience with financial tools an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and desire to learn new technology applications quickly, such as DocuSign, custodian applications, WA systems.
  • Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.

  • Excellent understanding of the investment management concepts, including trading, portfolio construction, business practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration or similar field of study is preferred but equivalent combination of education experience will be considered.
  • Investment Support and Private Counsel experience would be considered an asset.
  • Valid CSC/CPH or Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) is considered an asset.
  • Industry recognized designations such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent are considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex queries, escalations, and provide timely resolutions to ensure the smooth operation of WAPC.
  • Become an expert resource person on all daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting including account activity, AUM, cash balances, net flows, and off-book securities.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of transactions, pricing and positions to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, such as Custodians and service providers, to address inquiries and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Provide comprehensive data reports, extracts, and any information required for external audits.
  • Collaborate closely with the Fees department to manage and process closing fees on accounts.
  • Collection, organization, and analysis of investment-related data to provide input for internal stakeholders for usable formatting for investment activities.
  • Ongoing support of advisor teams in understanding performance, risk, the underlying holdings, and changes to the overall management of portfolios.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, streamlining workflows, and implementing best practices.
  • Participate and contribute to complex cross-functional projects, offering advanced operational insights to support technology modernization, process optimization, and profitability growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex issues, propose solutions, and drive process improvements.
  • Ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.
