About The Position

Desjardins Capital Markets’ Internship Program is a great way for current students to get a head start on their career in finance, working for one of Canada's investment banks. Undergraduate students spend their final summer before graduation gaining technical training, hands-on capital markets experience and industry insights. Desjardins’ Investment Banking division is looking to recruit successful applicants for its Montréal office. The Investment Banking Internship Program is a rewarding experience where undergraduates work alongside investment banking professionals to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become integral members of Desjardins’ deal team. Program Details Summer internships will run from May through August 2027, for a total of 16 weeks. Interns will receive end-of-summer reviews as well as constructive feedback from the investment banking team throughout the placement. Great care and resources are devoted to ensure that at the end of the summer, the intern will have a solid understanding of the elements necessary for a successful career in global financial markets.

Requirements

  • Desjardins’ Investment Banking division is looking for highly dynamic and engaged individuals with the energy, enthusiasm and capacity to work in a fast-paced and stimulating environment.
  • Successful candidates are selected based on their academic excellence, relevant work experience, market knowledge and communication skills.
  • The role of an investment banking intern requires dedication, passion for the industry and a very solid work ethic.
  • A proven academic track record with background in finance, accounting, engineering, or other relevant fields with outstanding track record is required.
  • Candidates must be entering the final year of their undergraduate program in the fall of 2027.
  • Undergraduate degree to be completed upon either the Fall 2027 or Winter 2028 semesters
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and French
  • Demonstrated knowledge and strong interest in finance and capital markets
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills (i.e. financial and data analysis)
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Strong technical/computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg)
  • The ability to work within a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic team environment

Responsibilities

  • Support in the execution of all facets of a mandate
  • Financial and written analysis of companies and industries, including the development of valuation models, pro forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc.
  • Assistance in the preparation of presentation materials for use in client meetings
