About The Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for conducting cycle counts, reporting inventory discrepancies, and maintaining inventory KPIs. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. These Inventory Specialists are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Inventory Specialists are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Inventory Specialists are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

Requirements

  • Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • English (reading, writing, verbal)
  • Basic to intermediate level mathematical skills to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing and distributing client products.
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplishes job task in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-pace work environment.
  • Employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
  • Employee uses computer and telephone equipment.
  • Employee regularly lifts and/or moves objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • Current or prior MHE certification

Responsibilities

  • Conducting cycle counts, reporting inventory discrepancies, and maintaining inventory KPIs.
  • Counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies.
  • Using a pallet jack, order picker, or scissor lift to accurately pick, scan, and/or locate product to conduct accurate cycle counts.
  • Generating inventory reports from the WMS and possessing basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry.
  • Efficiently and accurately reporting inventory results in the appropriate areas and entering data into the KPI.
  • Assisting in other departments as general warehouse associates, as needed.
  • Using a pallet jack to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands.
  • Efficiently and accurately picking products and staging in the appropriate areas.
  • Stacking, packaging, banding, shrink wrapping and labeling products as determined by client requirements.
  • Using the appropriate documentation to ensure that all products and orders are received, handled, and stored correctly.
  • Verifying that products and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Executing all safety protocols and accomplishing all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, orderly work area and assisting in security of the warehouse.
  • Complying with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
  • Performing or assisting in building, grounds and equipment maintenance as assigned.
