About The Position

Under limited supervision, the candidate will be actively involved in all aspects of international tax including, but not limited to, preparation of U.S. international tax filings, organization of local country corporate filings and estimated payments, and calculating tax provisions. Ensures accurate, reliable and timely tax preparation and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ Years accounting experience required
  • Basic Word, intermediate Excel and Query/Pivot table skills required
  • Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability required
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions required
  • Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem solving skills required

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and analyzes accounting information and assists in the preparation of U.S. international tax compliance, including Earnings and Profits, Subpart F, Section 78 Gross-up and Forms 5471 & 8858. Ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Compiles and analyzes accounting information and coordinates with outside advisors to ensure compliance for payment, reporting or other tax requirements for GST & VAT returns.
  • Coordinates corporate tax filings and estimated payments for local jurisdictions.
  • Collaborates with other members of the corporate tax department and outside advisors to understand tax rules in foreign jurisdictions in order to review local income tax returns.
  • Prepares responses to requests for information from outside taxing authorities.
  • Assists with analysis concerning tax planning opportunities as they affect RGA and client companies.
  • Performs research, analysis and provides recommendations to tax processes and procedures.
  • Completes special projects as needed, in areas such as acquisitions, new ventures, sales, new products and other opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the tax department staff/management to maintain accuracy and efficiency on all tax preparation and reporting activities.
  • Maintains frequent contact with management and staff associates in finance, valuation, treaties, and administration to facilitate accomplishment of department objectives.
