About The Position

As we head into an exciting new phase of growth, we’re looking for an Indirect Tax Analyst to join our North American tax team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Manager, Indirect Tax to ensure compliance with U.S. Sales and Use Taxes and Canadian GST/HST/PST across our operations. You will play a critical role in delivering accurate tax filings, supporting audits, and helping modernize and strengthen our indirect tax processes. This is a newly created position driven by company growth. The role is hybrid (typically 2 days in-office at our Montreal headquarters in Saint-Laurent and 3 days remote).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance in an industry or consulting environment.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in Canadian indirect taxes and ideally with U.S. Sales and Use Tax or a significant interest in learning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French. English is required to speak with stakeholders outside of the province of Quebec.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP experience is a strong asset) and tax determination engines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely support in the preparation and the review of U.S. Sales and Use Tax and Canadian indirect tax returns (GST/HST/PST).
  • Reconcile indirect tax general ledger accounts and prepare related journal entries.
  • Analyze tax notices, liaise with tax authorities, and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Perform data analysis and tax research to support compliance with changing regulations.
  • Assist with government audits and tax authority reviews.
  • Perform technical research as required.
  • Support in the implementation of new tax technologies and process enhancements.
  • Stay current on U.S. and Canadian indirect tax legislation and regulatory developments.
  • Support in Implementing changes to the exemption certificate management process.
  • Support additional initiatives within tax compliance.
