About The Position

The senior tax analyst will be primarily responsible for performing various tasks associated with the preparation of indirect taxes for compliance and reporting needs for the Central Region. They will also assist in providing information to support decisions by key stakeholders.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in corporate tax
Knowledge of the applicable federal, state and municipal tax laws/regulations
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economic or related field
Proficient in the use of MS office products; SAP or similar; Power Plan and Power Tax exposure preferred; Hyperion smart-view preferred
Excellent communication skills (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills to effectively work with other team members and different departments

Responsibilities

Assure the accuracy and timeliness of tax return preparation, payment of taxes and the maintenance of appropriate records
Develop processes to ensure tax compliance performed accurately and timely
Participate as a lead member of the tax team to assure that indirect taxes are properly reflected in the accounting records of the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable tax laws and regulations
Participate as a lead member during audits of the Company’s tax compliance
Maintain good relationships with outside taxing authorities while representing the Company’s tax needs and issues
Conduct research related to tax laws and regulations to minimize tax liabilities while complying with those laws and regulations
Provide accurate and timely information to other departments to facilitate budgeting, planning, reporting and ratemaking activities
Perform other tax related special projects as needed
