About The Position

This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related area of study.
  • One year of full-time, professional experience creating reports, identifying trends, or analyzing financial data using Excel, Structured Query Language (SQL), R analytical script, any other equivalent analytics tools, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in compliance or accounting/finance
  • Experience working in federal, state or local government
  • Intermediate or above excel proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and analyze sales tax data from multiple sources to support enforcement, collections, and auditing functions
  • Review taxpayer accounts to identify patterns, discrepancies, and potential compliance issues, contributing directly to revenue recovery efforts
  • Produce recurring revenue and compliance reports, issue taxpayer notifications, and manage inbound responses to ensure timely and accurate follow-up
  • Conduct routine FF&E and other simple audits to validate reported activity and ensure compliance with the sales tax code
  • Maintain data quality through regular record checks and contribute to process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
  • Create ad-hoc analysis and summaries to support cross-functional operational needs across the Sales Tax division
  • Other duties as assigned
