Eurofins Environment Testing is searching for a Microbiology Analyst in Chesapeake, VA. This is a full-time position. The Microbiology Analyst I prepares and analyzes environmental water samples using standard analytical techniques according to scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Philadelphia, LLC’s Quality Assurance programs and SOPs. The role involves applying GMP/GLP, performing basic micro lab techniques, preparing media/cultures, contributing to a team using bacterial test systems, assisting in report writing, training staff, carrying out procedures with minimal supervision, maintaining precise records, culturing and enumerating infectious bacterial pathogens, entering data into LIMS, maintaining/calibrating equipment, preparing and washing glassware, and performing other assigned duties such as Wet Chemistry, Sample Login, and Courier services. Additionally, the role includes receiving and unloading samples, verifying receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), logging samples into the Lab Management System, labeling samples, preparing bottle kits for clients, forwarding samples to other laboratories, disposing of hazardous materials, monitoring freezer and cooler temperatures, cleaning labs, maintaining safety protocols, stocking inventory, performing splits and composites, potentially performing courier duties, assisting in maintenance of walk-in coolers, shipping empty coolers, logging outgoing coolers, maintaining company vehicles, conducting client interactions professionally, and preparing bottle orders. On-call availability for non-routine sampling, delivery, analysis setup, and test readback may be required.
