The Energy, Infrastructure, & Transition (“EIT”) Investment Banking team provides investment banking services to existing and prospective clients in the digital infrastructure, power, utilities, renewables, infrastructure, midstream, and upstream energy sectors. The team has a global coverage strategy across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia. Our client-centric approach incorporates M&A and other financial advisory services with full access to the debt, equity and loan capital markets. The team also delivers complex risk and hedging solutions to clients. The EIT team manages a market leading platform from our offices in New York, Houston, Toronto, Calgary, London, and Bogota. Our New York office is the largest in EIT’s global footprint. We primarily support our clients through a variety of transactions including M&A (buy-side and sell-side) in both public and private markets, capital structure advisory including public and private markets capital raises (both debt and equity, across various product types) construction and term financings, refinancings, and public-private partnerships. The team’s coverage mandate includes the following sub-verticals, among others: digital infrastructure and data centers, behind-the-meter power generation, airports, seaports, roads and bridges, light and heavy rail, educational facilities, hospitals, midstream energy, renewables (including solar, onshore wind, and offshore wind), battery storage, thermal power generation, regulated utilities, district energy, and water treatment assets. EIT is committed to supporting CIBC’s clients as they navigate the energy transition from carbon-intensive fuels to sustainable solutions, and impacts this transition will have on connected industries. EIT’s coverage universe across the digital infrastructure, power, utilities, energy and infrastructure sectors provides the opportunity to play an integral role advising on significant and marquee transactions that support the AI build-out and broader re-industrialization of North America. The team’s coverage mandate includes data centers, fiber, towers and wireless infrastructure, conventional and renewable power, regulated utilities and utility infrastructure, infrastructure, midstream, and upstream energy. The EIT team supports our clients through a variety of transactions including M&A, strategic advisory, capital structure advisory, equity and debt capital financings, and tax equity transactions. With guidance from Managing Directors, Executive Directors or Directors, you will complete assignments that help our clients achieve their goals and impact the CIBC's bottom line through transaction and financing execution, client relationship support, industry and company research, and contributing to the overall communication flow across our global offices. The role provides you with steep learning and an ability to observe and influence the strategic direction of our clients’ businesses with exposure to company executives and board of directors. The Analyst will provide financial modeling, analytical, structuring, research and transaction support and will assist with the execution of transactions and advisory projects such as; mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, strategic advisory/alternatives projects and full capital structure solution projects. The Analyst will be expected to maintain an awareness of our clients, industry, regulatory issues and relevant economic/political trends. A team approach to executing coverage and financing assignments is designed to provide progressive on the job training.
