About The Position

RBCCM is looking to add an Analyst based in Toronto on the Global Credit Market Execution Team. This role offers the opportunity to join a diverse and collaborative environment with continuous learning and professional development. The Analyst will have the chance to develop relationships with investors and other capital markets individuals in Canada and abroad.

Requirements

  • Completed undergraduate degree with a focus in finance, accounting, law or other quantitative field, or working towards a Charter Holder of CFA and/or CPA
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Corporate Lending
  • Well-developed quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Demonstrated capability of corporate finance spreadsheet modeling
  • A highly motivated, committed and responsible work ethic, with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant product, transaction execution and/or coverage experience within a Loan Portfolio Management Group, Corporate Banking or Investment Banking
  • Proficiency with Tableau visualization and other data analytical tools
  • Front office experience in the Canadian, the US and/or European market

Responsibilities

  • Support transaction execution, business presentation development/meeting participation, and other such duties
  • Undertake analytical transactional modelling of risk transfer products and due diligence on counterparties with whom we transact in those products
  • Prepare due diligence information packages for the disbursement of credit risk to third party counterparties
  • Support and coordinate with bankers on transaction execution
  • Collaborate and coordinate product support with internal partners in the Functions, including Group Risk Management
  • Work with tax partners to ensure all taxes related to NPI deals are paid out on time
  • Assist with monitoring and providing post-close transaction support
  • Manage the process of updating the portfolio and preparing reports
  • Assist with internal financial reporting and management reporting
  • Develop internal decks for senior management within C&IB
  • Assist with the development, and amendments (if/as applicable) of policies and procedures
  • Work on the development and improvement of regulatory capital relief models, as needed
  • Assist in business development initiatives including engagement of senior bankers in RBC’s various market geographies and investigation of NPI application to new lending products
  • Support ongoing internal stakeholder education regarding product mechanics, benefits/costs, market developments
