About The Position

As an Analyst, Finance and Capital Markets, you will support and manage all aspects of project finance transactions involving renewable energy projects, and battery storage technologies. Key responsibilities include creating and managing complex financial models, managing the due diligence process, coordination with external financing parties to support closing and funding of transactions, and supporting compliance with covenants in finance documents. You will work closely with other teams within Invenergy including Renewable Development, Asset Management, Origination, Engineering, Legal, Tax, and Accounting, as well as external stakeholders. This position is located at our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in finance, banking, consulting, or related field, which can also be met with masters degree programs and relevant internships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex financing models in Excel.
  • Familiarity in reading and interpreting commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project or corporate finance debt or equity transactions in power generation or energy/utilities sector preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support project finance transactions and due diligence, including construction debt, term debt, working capital, tax equity investments, and cash equity investments.
  • Assist with project and portfolio-level financings for operating projects, including lender relationships and reporting activities.
  • Interpret terms in operating agreements, financing agreements, and power purchase agreements to identify issues and compliance that may impact project level and corporate financings and communicate findings to management.
  • Develop and manage financial models to analyze project and partnership level performance of operating wind, solar, and storage projects. Synthesize and communicate project economic summaries to management.
  • Collaborate with tax, accounting, and treasury teams for disbursements, tax returns, valuations, and project models.
  • Assist in due diligence processes for tax equity partnerships, project debt refinancings, equity buyouts, and asset divestures.
  • Support corporate finance activities, including cash management and compliance with corporate loan facilities.
