About The Position

Northland Properties Corporation (NPC) is seeking a Finance Automation Analyst to support the Finance Automation Manager. This role is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing process automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, internal controls, and data integration within the Accounting/Finance function. The Analyst will collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams using tools like Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform. The primary goal is to streamline accounting and finance processes to enhance efficiency for both the Finance team and the company. The role requires ownership of automation initiatives, including solution delivery, testing, troubleshooting, and user training. The ideal candidate will have strength in either accounting processes or technical skills within the Microsoft Power Platform, with a strong willingness to learn the other area. A key criterion is a strong desire to learn, adapt to new technologies, and develop a well-rounded understanding across both finance and technical areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, or Computer Science.
  • Excellent communicator, self-motivated and driven team player with the ability to build relationships and community with coworkers and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years working in accounting or operational functions with a track record of deploying streamlined and automated solutions.
  • Experience developing automation solutions on the Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerPages, PowerBi, Dataverse).
  • Experience in low-code/no-code development.
  • Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.

Responsibilities

  • Work with inter-department Finance and business stakeholders to better understand processes being conducted today and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to assess, adopt, and implement infrastructure for automation.
  • Support the end-to-end design, build, and deployment of finance specific apps and automated workflows using Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse) to reduce or eliminate manual and repetitive tasks, specifically within Finance but also within the broader business where applicable. Activities include requirements gathering, solution design, build, test, deployment, and implementation.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and refinement of automation solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Power Platform applications and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power Platform components.
  • Stay updated on the latest Power Platform features and best practices.
  • Assist in change management activities such as user training, ongoing support, and issue resolution to ensure the effective adoption of developed tools or automation.
