About The Position

FTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on the Maintenance, Repair and Exchange (MRE) of CFM56 and V2500 engines. FTAI’s propriety portfolio of products, including The Module Factory and a joint venture to distribute engine PMA helps make CFM56 and V2500 engine maintenance simpler, more cost-effective, significantly faster, and more environmentally friendly. Additionally, FTAI owns and leases jet aircraft which often facilitates the acquisition of engines at attractive prices. FTAI invests in aviation assets and aerospace products that generate strong and stable cash flows with the potential for earnings growth and asset appreciation. The Cost Operations Analyst plays a critical role in supporting operational and financial performance across maintenance and repair activities. This position is responsible for tracking operational costs, analyzing repair and production data, monitoring variances, and supporting cost control initiatives across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail oriented, and capable of translating operational data into actionable insights that support business decisions and improve efficiency. This role works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, Materials, Finance, and Repair teams to ensure accurate cost reporting, data integrity, and visibility into operational performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Aviation Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in operations analysis, cost analysis, financial analysis, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and operational reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within aviation, MRO, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
  • Experience using Quantum Control ERP.
  • Experience writing and using SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles or fundamental accounting (e.g., variance analysis, cost allocation, and financial reconciliation).
  • Familiarity with operational cost structures related to engine maintenance and repair activities.
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
  • Understanding inventory, materials management, and repair operations.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation efforts.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze operational costs related to engine maintenance, repairs, materials, and production activities.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on operational performance, cost trends, labor utilization, and repair activity.
  • Monitor variances between estimated and actual repair or operational costs and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing operational cost analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve cost visibility and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Review operational data for accuracy and ensure proper documentation within company systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, workflow optimization, and reporting enhancements.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Operations teams to support month end reporting and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting documentation in compliance with company standards and procedures.
