The Corporate Reporting Analyst prepares high quality tax and entity financial reporting documents, in compliance with requirements, and maintains stakeholder relationship with Taxation. Your work will support critical financial and tax reporting processes at CPKC, while giving you the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships and enhance reporting quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
  • CPA designated or training towards a CPA designation
  • At least 2 years of experience in a corporate reporting role
  • Knowledge of US GAAP requirements, desirable
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication Skills

Responsibilities

  • Account for taxes for certain CPKC entities, analyze related accounts, coordinate intercompany transfer pricing adjustments, and prepare summary financial information used by the tax group for provision calculation
  • Prepare U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements needed by internal stakeholders on a recurring basis, including coordination with the multiple internal stakeholders that provide information into the reporting process
  • Prepare account reconciliations for income taxes and selected entities
  • Assess reporting implications of significant financial transactions and draft related disclosures
  • Identify, analyze and reconcile inconsistent information in order to recommend adjustments where necessary
  • Identify and analyze possible improvements to the reporting process, with a particular focus on maintenance of entity reporting ledger and consolidation tool used in financial statement preparation, and implement selected solutions
  • Ensure accounting and reporting process complies with applicable internal control (SOX) requirements
  • Address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers
