Analyst, Corporate Development & Finance

Centric Services, Inc.The Woodlands, TX

About The Position

The Analyst, Corporate Development & Finance will sit at the intersection of business development, corporate finance, and strategic operations, reporting directly to the Director, Portfolio Finance. The role has consistent interaction to the CEO, CFO, senior leadership, and our sponsor, with material exposure to investment committee processes, sponsor reporting, and platform-level strategy from day one. This is a generalist role at a high growth, fast-moving platform. Will be hands-on across deal evaluation, BD pipeline management, regulatory support, high level operational KPI tracking, and ad hoc analytics. It is designed for an individual seeking accelerated, unfiltered exposure and participation in growing an energy infrastructure platform. This role is based 100% in our office in The Woodlands, Texas. Candidates should be located in the greater Houston area or willing to relocate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with strong academic performance. Concentrations in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related quantitative field are preferred but not required.
  • 2–4 years in investment banking (energy, infrastructure, power & utilities, or real estate coverage preferred), infrastructure or energy private equity, Big 4 transaction advisory, corporate development or finance at an infrastructure or utility platform, or a rotational finance program at a comparable institution.
  • Advanced Excel modeling, including operating models, return analyses, and scenario work. Confident building from a blank sheet, not just maintaining someone else’s model.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and executive communication skills.
  • Comfort working across structured and unstructured data, including pulling from external market sources and synthesizing into a point of view.
  • Clear, concise written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with regulated utilities, energy infrastructure, or real estate development is a strong plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated track record of taking on more scope than the title implies.
  • Experience with Monday.com, NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable pipeline/CRM tooling is a plus but not required

  • Build and maintain financial models for prospective developer agreements and BD opportunities, including meter ramp, rate base build, and unlevered/levered return analysis
  • Prepare IC memos and supporting materials for deal approvals
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective counterparties, projects, and markets
  • Synthesize external market data (Zonda, Texas housing data) into deal-specific underwriting views
  • Own and continuously improve the BD pipeline, including data hygiene, reporting cadences, and workflow design
  • Track project-level KPIs across the portfolio and flag variances against underwriting assumptions
  • Support developer-facing communications, agreement tracking, and counterparty coordination
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering/Ops, Regulatory, and Legal to maintain a single source of truth on commercial activity
  • Support upcoming rate case preparation, including data assembly, customer class analysis, and cost causation work
  • Partner with the Accounting and FP&A teams on portfolio reporting, monthly variance analysis, and capital tracking
  • Contribute to rate base, EBITDA, and levered free cash flow reporting for sponsor and lender audiences
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to identify value-creation opportunities across the existing portfolio
  • Build executive-ready PowerPoint materials for pitch decks, board updates, and investor communications
  • Support C-suite and sponsor requests with quick-turn analyses and decision-support materials
  • Maintain organizational rigor across a wide functional surface area, including recurring deliverables, meeting prep, and follow-through on action items
