About The Position

This position is critical – serving as closing coordinator for post-purchase transactions and an analyst for complex multifamily loan transactions. The Multifamily Asset Management Borrower Transactions Team impacts the Real Estate Market by providing liquidity, stability, and affordability. Liquidity is achieved by resolving outstanding requests to make changes to existing loans, which allows them to be sold and Freddie Mac to use the funds to buy more loans. Stability is provided by reviewing and approving loan assumptions, which is a competitive advantage for Borrowers wanting to sell their properties during times of restricted credit. Affordability is supported by Freddie Mac being a small balance loan leader, providing small loans to historically under-served markets through a streamlined review process and lower fee structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (or related discipline) or equivalent experience
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word is an advantage
  • Efficient in managing large volumes of requests

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a closing coordinator for post-purchase transactions on multifamily loans—provide support for issuance of approval letters, & reviewing legal documents to ensure all approval conditions are accurately reflected.
  • Coordinate execution and delivery of legal documents, review post-closing submissions to verify accuracy/completeness, follow up on open items as needed, and update systems to reflect changes.
  • Work closely with counterparts in Underwriting, Capital Markets, Legal, Operations and others within Asset Management to ensure the securitization process runs smoothly / Manage key customer relationships while managing a high volume of transactions.
  • Support the transaction check-in process, which may entail reviewing submissions for completeness, corresponding with servicers concerning the status of submissions, and updating systems to reflect pipeline activity.
  • Support analysts who analyze, underwrite, recommend and close post-funding transactions for complex multifamily loans. Typical transactions the candidate must be able to complete include releases, subordinate debt approvals and other performing loan transaction/modification requests. The candidate will be required to prepare investment briefs and present recommendations.
  • Prepare periodic reports with transaction data for internal distribution to other Multifamily departments / participate in initiatives to streamline business processes or other special projects as assigned
