About The Position

Client Analytics Specialist – BMO Capital Markets Client-Level Reporting and Business Insights. Client Analytics is a professional services team within BMO Capital Markets. This role is integral to the group’s mandate of providing client-level reporting, analytics, and business insights to senior executives, front-line relationship managers, and product managers, with the objective of assisting them to make proactive decisions to maximize enterprise profitability.

Requirements

Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, physics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science
Familiarity with database design and queries (Oracle/SQL) with a desire to learn
Specific academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with outstanding academic achievement
Understanding of financial pricing models and valuation of derivative products
Solid knowledge of financial theory and risk management concepts
Ability to attentively review, assess, and provide detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner
Able to exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks with little notice
Strong research and analytical skills and proven problem solver
Self-starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent analytical skills and the ability to independently resolve complex business problems
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and develop strong relationships at all levels across the organization to support the effective execution of business initiatives

Nice To Haves

Programming skills an asset, but not required (Python, JavaScript, VBA)

Responsibilities

Aggregating, organizing, and analyzing trade data to facilitate a wide range of reporting, from high-level business overviews down to trade-level details
Interacting and building relationships with various groups across the firm (trading desks, risk management, middle office, finance, etc.)
Troubleshooting and solving problems within a very short timeframe
Providing recommendations and information to senior-level business partners concerning the implementation of strategic initiatives, the structuring of transactions, product development, and the remediation and/or development of infrastructure capabilities
