About The Position

The Analyst, Category Strategy & Insights leverages customer, syndicated, POS, and shopper/panel data (e.g., Circana , Numerator) and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to deliver routine reporting and in-depth analytics that translate into actionable recommendations on assortment, shelving, merchandising, pricing, and promotion. The role integrates space analytics and retailer context to build customer-specific category stories and roadmaps, supporting reset readiness through whitespace identification, SKU optimization, and planogram-informed space recommendations grounded in shopper behavior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability, including working with large datasets and producing clear, defensible insights.
  • Experience with retail POS, syndicated, and/or panel data and related analytical approaches (e.g., Circana , Numerator, Power BI, or similar).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and structured analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build clear, audience-appropriate storylines in PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; ability to meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and ambiguity inherent in a newly formed role/team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver routine reporting and ad hoc analyses using customer, syndicated, and panel data to identify trends and opportunities in category performance.
  • Analyze shopper behavior and category dynamics, including (as applicable) purchase frequency, buy rate, penetration, cross-shop, leakage, and shopper demographics.
  • Integrate multiple data sources (e.g., Circana , Numerator, customer/retailer data, internal datasets) to develop a holistic view of category and shopper performance.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, customer-ready storytelling and insights using MS PowerPoint and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Develop recommendations on distribution, assortment, shelving/space productivity, merchandising, pricing, and promotion based on fact-based analysis.
  • Partner with customer teams and internal stakeholders to understand business questions, align on objectives , and deliver insights that inform commercial decisions.
  • Contribute to team capability building by aggregating best practices, improving analytical approaches, and supporting repeatable reporting and insight frameworks.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines with discipline; prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
