About The Position

Working in an agile environment, the Business Analyst is a key stakeholder and team member that play’s a critical role in delivering successful projects. The Business Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders to define current state and desired state of business processes and supporting technology, and will conduct gap analysis to develop overall business requirements. The Business Analyst supports the project team, ensures validation of technology solutions and communicates changes by transferring knowledge using various methods of communication.

Requirements

  • 3 years of related experience
  • Relevant post-secondary education
  • Collections, legal or banking industry knowledge
  • In-depth understanding and experience with agile software methodologies, such as Scrum
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint)
  • Experience working with Wireframe tools such as Axure

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various internal and external customers to fully comprehend and envision the business need for a technology solution.
  • Identify and validate current state processes, and conduct JAD sessions to work with business and I.T. stakeholders to explore and design the desired future state.
  • Create and maintain a Product Backlog for each initiative, transforming and elaborating epics into detailed user stories supported by preparing prototypes and maintaining an in-depth User Experience Guide for all applications.
  • Prepare and maintain reusable artifact such as Data Dictionaries and Data Elements ensuring relevant libraries are kept up-to-date.
  • Partner with the business to support or act as Product Owner within an agile software development project delivery model.
  • Work with the business to prioritize requirements and manage scope changes to ensure that impacts are assessed and ultimate business value is achieved.
  • Participate as a key member of the Scrum team, attending daily stand-up meetings, conducting backlog grooming, facilitating sprint planning, supporting development and Quality Assurance testing, facilitating a visual demonstration of the delivered business value to project stakeholders, and contributing to an effective sprint retrospective.
  • Coordinate and guide the execution of Business Acceptance Testing by our internal and/or external customers, in order to validate that the end product meets the business needs and quality expectations.
