About The Position

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a top-tier Am Law 50 firm to identify a seasoned and skilled Analyst, Billing Compliance to support firmwide billing accuracy, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring client billing requirements are met while maintaining strong internal controls across a complex, high-volume legal environment. This is a high-accountability role . Candidates must demonstrate deep experience in legal billing compliance and a stable career history to be considered for interview. The Opportunity The Analyst, Billing Compliance plays a central role in safeguarding billing integrity across the firm. You will work cross-functionally with Finance, Pricing, Conflicts, eBilling, and Attorney teams to ensure matters are opened correctly, billing guidelines are followed precisely, and client requirements are consistently met. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in detail-driven environments, understands the nuances of legal billing, and enjoys improving systems and processes at scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of legal billing experience (required)
  • 5+ years of financial systems experience (required)
  • 5+ years of general accounting experience (required)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting billing compliance in a law firm environment
  • Advanced proficiency with Elite or similar legal accounting and billing systems
  • Stable resume reflecting long-term roles and consistent progression
  • Must be local to New York City or Boston
  • Advanced proficiency with legal accounting and billing systems, including Elite
  • Advanced proficiency with document management systems (e.g., WorkSite, FileSite, DeskSite, Equitrac )
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced proficiency with financial forecasting tools (e.g., targetCash )
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices within a legal services environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration , Accounting, or Finance
  • Experience supporting Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCG) compliance
  • Hands-on experience with Intapp Open and Intapp Time
  • Proven ability to lead or support system implementations or upgrades
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior stakeholders
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure firmwide bills are processed accurately, timely, and in full compliance with client billing guidelines and internal firm policies
  • Review and audit new and existing matters to confirm compliance using appropriate billing system matter codes
  • Coordinate closely with Conflicts, Terms, Pricing, eBilling, Timekeeping, and Collections teams to ensure matters are opened and maintained correctly
  • Support and contribute to process improvements within Intapp Open and Intapp Time
  • Lead and support projects related to: Matter maintenance Billing compliance Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCG) compliance audits
  • Communicate securely and effectively with billing attorneys and client service staff regarding adherence to client billing requirements
  • Respond to billing-related inquiries from attorneys, clients, and internal teams
  • Prepare and deliver billing and compliance reports as requested
  • Partner with Financial Services to support billing system updates and upgrade initiatives
  • Handle additional billing compliance and finance-related projects as assigned
