About The Position

The role of Analyst/Associate on the Valuation and Strategic Analysis (VSA) team provides an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to see all facets of the private equity industry. As a member of the VSA team, one of your primary responsibilities will be to assist with the quarterly valuation of PSG’s portfolio companies, in accordance with ASC 820. You will also work with all other teams within the company, assisting with various projects. Some of these projects include portfolio monitoring, fund performance analysis, ad hoc LP requests, fundraising, and benchmarking.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
1 – 3 years’ experience, preferably in a valuation role
Strong analytical, comprehension and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with OPM / contingent claims analyses is a plus
Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage changing assignments in a team environment
Strong Excel skills
Experience coordinating with various teams in investment management is a plus (e.g., tax, accounting, compliance, etc.)

Responsibilities

Assisting with valuation analysis on a wide range of public and private entities within various industries using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
Preparing valuation-related materials for financial reporting and fundraising purposes
Performing in-depth industry and market research
Working in conjunction with deal teams to gather financial information data pertinent to the portfolio companies
Responding to investor and due diligence requests
Creating ad hoc reports for various departments throughout the firm
Assisting in preparing and presenting the results of each analysis in a clear and concise manner.
