About The Position

The Analyst/Associate, Strategic Financial Operations will play a key role in supporting the firm's equity activities and project-based assignments, including expense allocations. This individual will be part of a dynamic team, working across various transactions and contributing to the firm’s overall Finance function. Reporting to the senior leader within the group, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop deep expertise in private equities as an asset class and investment management operations more broadly, within a high-growth environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; relevant professional qualifications such as CPA is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in fund admin, audit, investments, hedge funds, or a related field.
  • Some experience and background knowledge in equities as an asset class is required.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to assess complex transactions and read and understand detailed legal documents.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and preparing financial reports.
  • Proven ability to assist in managing transaction processes efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to analyze information, ask thoughtful questions, identify issues, and develop solutions. Ability to independently execute tasks after initial training.
  • Highly Detail-Oriented: Ability to understand complex processes, retain technical information, and apply instructions accurately.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check.
  • Must be willing to work from the Chicago office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the review of booking of all equity trades, including LP/GP investments and other bespoke equity-like structured investments, and related post-trade activities, covering everything from escrow holdbacks to restructurings and payoffs.
  • Procures and maintains PIK income calculations for applicable securities and liaises with Valuations for equity support to ensure accuracy and consistency in applying fair value marks to the portfolio.
  • Receive & review all cash distribution & income files. Ensure appropriate teams receive files for processing. Liaises with deal team and accounting policy team on appropriately tagging all cash related to equities.
  • Supports Finance function in financial reporting including completeness and accuracy of the Schedule of Investments. Ensure Antares receives reporting as per LPA/LLC provisions.
  • Work closely with other teams within the firm, including colleagues in Asset Management, Legal, Operations, Finance, and Credit Underwriting, to ensure smooth execution, reporting and management of equity transactions.
  • Prepare regular reporting on equity portfolio(s), providing insights to Operations, Finance leadership and other stakeholders (including external) as needed. Support reconciliation of equity portfolio(s) across firm systems.
  • Supports senior leader on various ad hoc projects and assignments, including related to the accurate and timely allocation of direct and indirect expenses.
