About The Position

The Analyst, Asset Management is responsible for providing research, analysis, reporting and development to support the Asset and Investment Management Group. This role involves preparing financial analyses and reports, assisting with property-level asset management decisions and implementation of Asset Management programs, and underwriting investment properties to establish monthly rental rates, property values, and required capital investments. The position also supports the capital allocation, budgeting, and planning processes, and requires maintaining a thorough understanding of the company’s financial information systems for reporting and data inquiries. The Analyst will prepare various reports for internal and external stakeholders, forecast and analyze organizational trends, and develop and update models for financial analysis related to Asset and Investment Management, Accounting, and Operations. Additionally, the role includes tracking and analyzing trends in operating areas, preparing daily cash analysis and weekly cash forecasting, and preparing consolidated investor reporting. The Analyst will also provide backup to the Accounting department as needed, research real estate markets, analyze and recommend improvements to investment and management processes, and monitor financial and operating results. This role requires tracking economic and performance indicators in real estate markets, interpreting data for recommendations, and completing assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, Mathematics or a related field
• 0 to 2+ years of experience in residential asset management or institutional real estate; Single family preferred
• 0 to 2+ years of experience in extensive, detailed data analysis and reporting
• Current driver’s license and automobile insurance
• Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions
• Ability to create and design general marketing pieces for in-house production
• Knowledge of current single-family customer product demands, drivers, and trends
• Proficiency utilizing Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and basic OS tools
• Strong data and financial modeling skills required
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and get along with others
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to facilitate presentations or speak in public to large groups of people
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multi-task and maintain flexibility and creativity in a variety of situations
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems

Nice To Haves

• Quantitative degree or supportive coursework preferred
• Proficiency in a programming language (R or Python preferred)
• Experience utilizing Salesforce for workflow and approval management
• Experience utilizing Yardi or similar property management software
• Experience utilizing Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualization software
• Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (SQL) beneficial

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial analyses and reports
• Assist with property level asset management decisions and implementation of Asset Management programs
• Underwrite investment properties, establishing monthly rental rate, property value and required capital investment
• Provide support to the capital allocation, budgeting and planning process
• Maintain a thorough understanding of company’s financial information systems including the ability to write financial reports and make inquiries for data
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders

• Create specified ad hoc reports, graphs and charts of financial data
• Develop and update models to provide analysis for various financial conditions related to Asset and Investment Management, Accounting and Operations
• Provide ongoing tracking, reporting and analysis of trends in various operating areas
• Prepare and analyze Daily Cash Analysis reports and weekly Cash Forecasting
• Prepare and analyze Consolidated Reporting to Investor
• Provide backup to Accounting when required
• Research real estate markets for potential opportunities
• Analyze and prepare recommendations for improving investment and management processes
• Monitor and evaluate financial and operating results on a periodic basis as required
• Track economic and performance indicators within real estate markets
• Timely interpretation of data for recommendations
• Complete projects assigned by Asset Management leadership
