About The Position

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is looking for highly motivated individuals to fill multiple openings as an Analyst within its Analytics teams. The primary focus of these teams is to generate actionable insights by leveraging data and employing effective data storytelling to support data-driven decision-making across the company. This role is based at Toyota Headquarters in Plano, TX, with a hybrid work arrangement: onsite work Monday-Thursday and remote work on Fridays. Applicants must have the right to work in the United States without requiring future immigration support or sponsorship from Toyota.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any field with an emphasis on quantitative analysis including Business Analytics, Information Science, Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Marketing, Consumer Insights or closely related field / STEM degree.
  • At least one year of equivalent and relevant work experience required.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience coding in SQL, Python and/or R (this will be tested during interviews).
  • Creative and quantitative problem-solving skills with strengths in Data Acquisition, Manipulation, Cleaning, Analysis and Presentation of Results.
  • Basic statistics knowledge.
  • Presentation skills including proposing strategic recommendations to management and clearly articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Intellectual curiosity – always making an effort to understand and find the truth in the data.
  • Experience collaborating with others.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s degree in an analytical field.
  • Background in Auto Finance or Consumer Lending industries.
  • Professional experience in one or more areas covered by the Analytics Job Family.
  • Intermediate to advanced statistics knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Uncover business needs and the true questions the company is trying to answer to properly frame analysis.
  • Leverage SQL/Python/R coding skills to pull and organize data for analysis.
  • Find insights buried in data by applying creative problem-solving, data exploration, and quantitative analytical skills (including statistical methods).
  • Assess the quantitative and qualitative impacts of possible actions based on insights, considering customers, employees, and the company.
  • Recommend actions based on insights by effectively telling the story supported by data through presentations (PowerPoint), data visualizations (Tableau), and clear verbal and written communication.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to help implement and measure recommended actions.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across Toyota such as Sales, Marketing, Servicing, Insurance, Risk, Technology, Legal/Compliance, Finance, Treasury, etc.
  • Continuously improve analytical, technical, communication, and people skills through training and on-the-job experience for advancement into analytical leadership roles.
  • Become a subject matter expert for the business area by developing a comprehensive understanding of its strategies, processes, policies, and data.
  • Guide/mentor other analysts on best practices for analysis and data storytelling.
