About The Position

This is a part-time role within the Amusement Park area of Burlington City Park. The appointed individual's main responsibility will be operating the Train or Carousel with on-site training provided. They may also be assigned one of the smaller 3 kiddie rides as needed. This position involves frequent weekend shifts from March to October, as well as morning and afternoon weekday shifts during the summer months (June to August). It entails working less than 1,000 hours per calendar year.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Positive Attitude: Maintain an enthusiastic and upbeat demeanor at all times.
• Guideline Adherence: Committed to following all directives set by the manager and the NC Department of Labor.
• ADA compliance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in amusement park or carnival/fair operations is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Open and close assigned rides at the start and end of each day.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on your assigned ride to ensure proper functioning.
• Load/unload guests.
• Explain ride rules and safety regulations to participants in a friendly and professional manner.
• Operate one of two amusement park rides, including the Denztel Carousel and Miniature Diesel Train. Kiddie Boats, Kiddie Planes, or Kiddie Cars, as needed.
• Continuously oversee ride activity to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
