About The Position

ProSidian Seeks a AMRP Transuranic Program Support Specialist (Full-Time) located in The Hanford Tri-Cities Area (Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) to support an engagement for the US Dept. of Energy (DOE) Hanford in Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area. The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to provide General Support Services Contractor (GSSC) assistance to support DOE Hanford [which consists of Richland Operations Office (RL), and Office of River Protection (ORP)] in support of the Govt’s operations, personnel management, and general administration of regional operations at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington. ProSidian Consulting's work includes supporting DOE requirements for consulting support, acquisition support, program/project management support, operational/administrative business support, and environmental consulting support. It is also ProSidian's duty to protect all classified information, special nuclear material, and other DOE property and work in accordance with DOE security regulations and requirements to maintain responsibility for protecting all classified information and all classified matter (including documents, material and special nuclear material) which are in every Engagement Team Member's possession and in connection with the performance of work under this contract against sabotage, espionage, loss or theft. AMRP TRU Program Support Candidates shall work to support requirements as a AMRP Transuranic Program Support Specialist and provide AMRP transuranic program support services to the provide the United States Department of Energy (DOE), Richland Operations Office (RL), Assistant Manager for River and Plateau (AMRP). The National Transuranic Waste Management Program, also called the National TRU Program, addresses waste acceptance criteria and requirements for packaging and shipping waste to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Repository. One of the committee's tasks is to identify areas for improvement in the National TRU Program that may increase safety to workers and the public, system throughput, efficiency, or cost-effectiveness. The AMRP Transuranic Program Support Specialist shall provide support in the following areas: Assist with the National TRU Program and compliance/execution of DOE Order 435.1, Radioactive Waste Management. Provide expert opinion and feedback at critical points in projects. Ensure project safety and regulatory documentation is complete, accurate, and reliable for submission to regulators or other DOE offices. Assist with Transuranic (TRU) program and waste acceptance criteria (WAC) for shipment of TRU waste to the Waste Isolation Pilot Project (WIPP). Assist with Operations activities at the T Plant, and specifically preparations to receive K Basin sludge. Assist with Central Waste Complex operations, drum/waste container identification, and RCRA enhancement work. Assist with Solid Waste Operating Complex documented safety analyses and technical safety requirements and their impact on facility operations. Assist with mixed low level waste (MLLW) burial ground operation and waste disposal. Assist with Naval Reactors disposal and maintenance. Participate in project conference calls as a SME for assigned areas. Participate in on-site assessments. Support the Federal Project Director (FPD). Provide detailed technical oversight and support to prevent programmatic failure due to, for example, failure to comply with regulations or coordination of resources. Assist in preparation of draft reports, including safety analyses, assessment, regulatory documents, waste acceptance criteria, technical reports, or other documents. Assessment include adequacy of AK packages, adequacy of waste packages, and adequacy of TRU waste characterization information and waste generation. Provide recommendations in areas that may need improvement.

Requirements

  • The AMRP Transuranic Program Support Specialist shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years
  • Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position.
  • Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study.
  • Experience in project management, radioactive waste management, and nuclear safety management.
  • Experience in project reviews, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Skilled at critical thinking, problem identification, and resolution.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Hanford site and wastes managed at the Hanford site, preferred.
