The AMP IT UP Program Manager oversees the design and implementation of the AMP-IT-UP: the Power of Reading project. Leads continuous process improvement for teachers and schools to enhance reading initiatives among middle school students with disabilities. Establishes and maintains relationships with school officials and participating teachers. Provides coaching and instruction to teachers and leaders on program initiatives and deliverables. The University of Alabama is partnering with the University of Miami, Teaching and Learning Department to embark on an exciting two (2) year middle school reading research project, AMP-IT-UP. This position works closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Project Manager at the University of Miami. Provides a unique experience to acquire knowledge on a new way to teach reading as well as hands-on involvement with classroom teachers and students on how to better teach middle school students with and at-risk for reading disabilities to participating schools in the state of Alabama. Provides instruction, support, and coaching to teachers implementing the Adolescent Multi-Component-Intensive Training-Reading program (AMP-IT-UP) program, assessment of students, along with other assigned research responsibilities. Assists with the implementation of daily study activities and provides support to these activities. This position will run through June 2028.
