Creating new opportunities for employees to grow their careers within a stable and expanding organization. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 12:30 am. The Ammonia (NH3) Maintenance Mechanic ensures the safe and efficient operation of Echo Lake Foods’ industrial ammonia refrigeration and utility systems. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in compliance with IIAR standards, PSM/RMP programs, and company safety policies. Ideal candidates bring solid technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and experience in food or industrial manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the industrial maintenance field, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience working with AC/DC motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Knowledge of piping systems and mechanical components.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to operate drilling and milling machines to produce or retool mechanical parts.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently, including conveyor systems, hydraulic sorting equipment, motors, electrical systems, and facility equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery and equipment.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair documentation and logs.
  • Perform all assigned duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Company safety policies and procedures.
