The Advanced Missions Group (AMG) converts MRC's customer relationships and mission understanding into opportunities to rapidly design, prototype, and transition mission-relevant solutions that accelerate MRC’s focused growth as a large business. Engineers in the AMG perform conceptual and quantitative analyses to assess the feasibility of select concepts and capabilities relating to manned and unmanned platforms, and other payloads and systems relating to MRC's core undersea warfare competencies. Work will primarily occur in-person in Middletown, RI with periodic travel for test support and stakeholder technical exchanges (if necessary to support task execution). This position reports directly to the AMG Manager and/or established Cross Functional Team (CFT) leads (as applicable). An AMG Engineer will be responsible for coordinating, executing, and/or evaluating the required technical evidence (e.g., analysis, modeling, research, performance analysis) associated with determining the viability of proposed initiatives prior to and immediately following CFT approval. They make assessments, decisions, and plans focused on delivering warfighting capabilities via emerging undersea technologies. They are ideally a subject matter expert in a specific technical area, comfortable with complex problem resolution, and able to identify and apply needed resources for rapid solutions development. This position is evolutionary and has the option to grow into an AMG Lead Engineer position. In that role, the ideal candidate will provide technical, engineering and analytical oversight to the CFT portfolio, advising the AMG Manager and aligning critical technical functions and needed capabilities between CFTs.
