About The Position

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is seeking an AmeriCorps: SYSTEMS & COMMUNICATION VISTA to join their mission to feed people and fight hunger. This is a full-year commitment with the AmeriCorps VISTA program. The Foodbank's mission is to lead a collaborative network that empowers people to experience healthy and hunger-free lives by distributing food, advocating, engaging, and convening the community in the fight to end hunger. They serve eight Northeast Ohio counties through a network of 600 partner agencies. The VISTA member will strengthen the Foodbank by improving food access, focusing on equipping partner agencies to transition to a new food ordering, reporting, and compliance system. This involves onboarding partners, creating training materials, tracking participation, and collecting feedback. The member will also research and plan for a new Foodbank campus in Wayne County by gathering community input and organizing planning materials. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank to improve food access across their service area.
  • Equip partner agencies to transition to a new system for food ordering, reporting, and compliance.
  • Onboard partners to the new system.
  • Create and update training materials and guides for the new system.
  • Track partner participation in the new system.
  • Collect feedback to understand where partners may need additional support.
  • Conduct research and planning for a new Foodbank campus in Wayne County.
  • Gather community input for the new campus.
  • Review data for the new campus planning.
  • Organize planning materials for the new campus.
