About The Position

This highly motivated, detail-oriented and data-driven individual will be part of the Global Trade Compliance Team and will be responsible for the daily management of the Watts’ global trade compliance program. This position is responsible for supervision of the Americas Global Trade Compliance Specialist. This position reports to the Global Trade Compliance Manager. This role is hybrid or remote, depending on candidate location.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canada Customs’ import and export laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canada antidumping duties, laws and regulations
  • Experience with Free Trade Agreements including USMCA, GSP
  • Ability to interface with all Watts’ internal departments
  • Capability to represent the company with regards to all import/export-related government agencies and external consultants when required
  • Ability to coordinate and deliver project goals and objectives within a defined time period in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to be proactive in recognizing and adjusting to shifting priorities
  • Self-motivated and directed, capable of operating semi-autonomously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • P.C. experience and skills, specifically EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook
  • BA/BS with 4 to 5 years relevant import/export operational and compliance experience
  • Proficient in English; additional languages a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Americas’ portion of the Watts’ imports/exports program, to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Liaise with local Customs officials as needed, to facilitate the movement of goods
  • Manage the daily import/export activity for the Americas region
  • Manage and maintain the global Watts’ product dictionary to include HTS, ADD/CVD, ECCN, materials etc.
  • Prepare internal monthly Customs reports
  • Analyze and manage the daily exceptions, to define root cause and corrective actions
  • Review and publish the Americas’ vendor shipping instructions and customs broker SOP
  • Manage the export program to include export controls, diversion risk
  • Participate in and support projects as necessary
  • Prepare and file any post entry corrections with applicable Customs offices
  • Review any new Antidumping Duty and Countervailing Duty Cases (ADD/CVD) and determine if Watts’ goods are covered, maintaining all information in Tradeflow and master data spreadsheet of results
  • Provide training to business units on trade topics as necessary
