About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a Colorado-based, therapist-owned and operated organization that partners with local schools to provide American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter services to PreK-12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality ASL (SPED) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This full-time, on-site opportunity is for an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter supporting students at a school in Greenwood Village, CO. The ASL Interpreter will facilitate communication for students in educational settings, provide interpreting services throughout the school day, and work collaboratively with teachers, service providers, and other members of the educational team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to helping students with diverse learning needs succeed.

Requirements

• American Sign Language Interpretation Certification
• EIPA score (3.5+)
• Passing written test
• Documentation submitted to CDE
• Fluency in ASL and English
• Strong receptive and expressive ASL skills
• Ability to interpret classroom instruction and student interactions accurately
• RID certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
• Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or ASL-English interpreting degree
• Experience interpreting in K-12 classrooms
• Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes
• Background check and fingerprinting
• Organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
