About The Position
EdTheory is looking for a skilled and dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our expanding team in Tuscon, Arizona and surrounding areas. This vital role involves facilitating effective communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing individuals and hearing individuals in various settings, ensuring access to information and full participation. The ASL Interpreter will be instrumental in improving the lives of individuals by bridging communication gaps.
Requirements
- Possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ASL Interpreting or a related field, or equivalent training/certification.
- Hold or be eligible for current state or national certification (e.g., RID certification) as an ASL Interpreter.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating effective communication between Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing individuals and hearing individuals in various settings.
- Ensuring access to information and full participation for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing individuals.
- Collaborating effectively with students, families, educators, and staff to support the needs of Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing individuals, particularly within a school or educational setting.
