About Onondaga Community College: Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is a college of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges throughout New York State. Job Description: The Humanities & Social Sciences Department at Onondaga Community College is currently inviting applications from qualified applicants to teach American Sign Language I (ASL 101) and American Sign Language II (ASL 102).
Requirements
- Fluent and accurate command of American Sign Language
- Knowledge of culture and language pedagogy
- Master's degree in ASL or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 credits in ASL
- For native speakers: Bachelor's degree in ASL or a related field with 18 credits in ASL
- Mentoring will also be required for those not having the Master's degree.
