About The Position

Amazon Corporate IT is seeking a talented Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the delivery of corporate buildings and expansions across the AMER region. With multiple teams and customer segments across these regions, this role requires a leader who is skilled in customer engagement, understands inverted leadership and will support their team to solve problems, delivering infrastructure solutions that met our customers’ demands on time, all the time. This role requires a builder, someone who can innovate and improve on our technology deployment processes, helping us scale our delivery with the growth and expansion of Amazon. We interact with many teams in Amazon to ensure our customers are requirements are delivered. Experience in program and portfolio management will be critical to this role as you will be coordinating your teams delivery with these partners. This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazon’s world class technical team, leading a team of highly talented individuals who are delivering some of the largest deployment, expansion and integration projects in the world.

Requirements

• BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of technical work experience
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience
• 5+ years of project/program management experience
• Experience automating routine tasks
• Experience in large scale infrastructure and AV deployments
• Possess clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use data to justify conclusions

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification
• Experience in the design and construction of infrastructure deployments across a wide customer base, from corporate offices to data centers

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for the delivery of corporate buildings and expansions across the AMER region.
• Deliver infrastructure solutions that meet customer demands on time.
• Innovate and improve technology deployment processes to scale delivery with Amazon's growth.
• Coordinate team's delivery with internal partners.
• Provide exceptional leadership and management for a staff of infrastructure Engineers.
• Build, motivate, and mentor a group of world-class engineers.
• Retain top talent, excel in day-to-day people and performance management, and recruit new engineers.
• Drive innovation and improvement using lean, six sigma, kaizen, and gemba methodologies.
• Utilize metrics to measure performance gaps and increase productivity.
• Translate customer requirements into an actionable roadmap.
• Deliver the right things at the right time with competing priorities.
