About The Position

This position is accountable for the assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation during the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of nursing care. The nurse assists the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in the circulating role. They develop, implement, and manage/coordinate an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. This role fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. The nurse adheres to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience and engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN - Registered Nurse of California
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in nursing theories, concepts, and practices, as well as medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, patient care best practices, safety precautions, privacy requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical individuals.
  • Basic proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work within established policies, procedures, and scientific methods to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve routine problems using established procedures and available resources.
  • Commitment to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of patients' protected health information (PHI).
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
