About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ambulatory RN Supervisor to lead the Pediatric Endocrinology Diabetes Clinic. This leadership role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee clinical operations, support staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care for pediatric patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders. Pediatric experience is strongly preferred, along with prior leadership, ambulatory care, and diabetes-specific experience. This position is responsible for coordinating clinical staff, managing clinic operations, and supporting a culture of safety, quality, and compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience is strongly preferred.

  • Prior diabetes-specific experience.
  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Pediatric, ambulatory, diabetes, or leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric procedures, clinical equipment, and supplies relevant to endocrine and diabetes care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, and oversight of nursing practice within the Pediatric Endocrinology Diabetes Clinic.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff to promote professional development and high standards of patient care.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency to support optimal patient outcomes and clinic operations.
  • Coordinate clinical activities, including patient assessments, diagnosis, care planning, and outcome evaluation, in accordance with evidence-based practices.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and process improvement initiatives to enhance clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Support compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive, coordinated patient care.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, resource management, and operational planning.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement aligned with ANA scope and standards of professional nursing practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
