About The Position

This role emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention, assisting patients and families to move rapidly, uneventfully, safely, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care. The nurse delegates, oversees, and provides quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate patient care. The position involves providing nursing care using a Family Centered approach, assessing individualized patient needs, and planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care using Evidence-Based Practices. The nurse ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance, works closely with providers and other team members for smooth clinic flow, addresses patient/parent concerns, and attains positive patient and family outcomes. Documentation is performed according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. The role also includes engaging in the "workplace community" by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings, then reporting important information and updates back to staff.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy.
  • Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
