The SHVI Ambulatory Nurse at Pineville, within the GCMG SHVI: Pineville - Surgery: Thoracic department, is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to enhance care processes and implement evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving patients and families throughout their healthcare journey. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team to improve outcomes, and upholding a culture of safety. The role also involves continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, administering medications and treatments, demonstrating effective communication and conflict resolution, and pursuing professional development. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics, ethical decision-making, respecting interdisciplinary roles, and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care are essential. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel, along with accurate and timely EHR documentation, are also required. The nurse may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate age-specific competency in patient care.
