The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Manager provides clinical leadership to pharmacists, pharmacy specialists, residents, and student interns within the Specialty Pharmacy Program in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. This role primarily oversees pharmacists embedded within adult and pediatric multidisciplinary clinic teams. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule upon successful completion of orientation. Responsibilities include: Serving as a leader on the Clinical Oversight Committee and a member of the Quality and Performance Improvement group, while contributing to other relevant committees. Supports development of new healthcare initiatives, identifies opportunities to enhance patient safety, and evaluates clinical services to address gaps and implement solutions. Oversee clinical staff performance, provides coaching for improvement, and leads recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of ambulatory care clinical pharmacy specialists. Collaborates with leadership and staff to promote safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication use processes. Works closely with pharmacy leadership to advance patient safety through technology optimization and program development. This role requires strong communication, organization, strategic planning, personnel management, data analysis, and process improvement skills, along with the ability to operate independently with a high degree of innovation, judgment, and flexibility. This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa upon completion of orientation and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
