The Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist will promote UVA Specialty Pharmacy’s culture of caring and communication, fostering patient empowerment through education and support. This newly created, clinic-embedded position within Rheumatology represents a strategic investment in specialty care, patient access, and relationship-based practice, designed for a pharmacist who wants to practice at the top of their license, build long-term patient relationships, and shape how specialty pharmacy services integrate into outpatient clinical care. The role is aligned with UVA Specialty Pharmacy but primarily clinic-based, partnering closely with rheumatology providers, nurses, and patients to manage complex medication therapy. The pharmacist will complement an existing rheumatology pharmacist and help expand services, capacity, and clinical impact.
