About The Position

This position oversees and delivers pharmaceutical care through patient-centered clinical services, medication information, education, and medication preparation and distribution. The role ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. The pharmacist will use sound judgment and clinical skills to provide input and implement patient care plans based on diagnosis in a timely manner. Building confidence and cooperation with patients, families, and healthcare providers through competent assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication is key. Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is required to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. The role may also involve performing specific procedures and/or teaching duties, and using professional judgment and clinical expertise for complex problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school (PHARMD).
  • Registered Pharmacist (RPH) within 120 days.
  • 3 years recent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different Pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures.
  • Knowledge and ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications.
  • Basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission, Title XXII, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
  • Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), related pharmaceutical technology, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and EPIC.
