About The Position

Under the general direction of Practice Leadership and with clinical guidance from Clinical Management, the Ambulatory Clinical Leader serves as a clinical and administrative leader within the ambulatory care setting. This shared leadership role is structured as 50% administrative and 50% direct clinical care, balancing patient care responsibilities with leadership, coaching, and practice management activities. Depending on the assigned department or service line, direct clinical care responsibilities may be delivered through in-person patient care or through remote nursing services, including telephone triage, electronic patient communication, desktop clinical assessment, and care coordination within the Registered Nurse scope of practice. The Ambulatory Clinical Leader provides guidance and mentorship to nursing staff, and other clinical team members, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, standardized clinical workflows, and system-wide clinical standards. The Ambulatory Clinical Leader fosters consistent adoption of clinical standards, promotes professional practice excellence, and helps optimize operational efficiency, patient access, and the patient experience while supporting additional clinical and operational responsibilities as defined in collaboration with Practice Leadership and Clinical Management.

Requirements

Current New Hampshire State Registered Nurse license.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.
Bachelor Degree in Nursing and minimum of three years as a Registered Nurse, or Associate Degree in Nursing and minimum of five years as Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Recruits, retains and develops clinical staff and manages performance.
Coordinates educational and training programs for all clinical staff.
Develops and implements clinical protocols and work flows and supervises compliance with regulations required by the DNV, OSHA, CLIA and other regulatory bodies.
Implements clinical processes to maximize quality care, efficiency and productivity.
Acts as a conduit for department and organizational communication among staff, providers, and others.
Participates in and supports departmental and organizational change.
Provides clinical care to patients.
Documents into the patient electronic medical record.
Takes responsibility for individual performance goals.
Provides clinical leadership and performs clinical responsibilities appropriate to the assigned department, which may include direct patient care or remote ambulatory nursing services, including telephone triage, electronic patient communications, desktop clinical assessment, care coordination, and other assigned clinical functions.
