Ambulatory Care Pharmacist for Cardiology and Transplant Services
About The Position
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a talented Ambulatory Care Pharmacist to join their team, supporting outpatient Heart and Lung Transplant Clinics and other cardiology clinics (anticoagulation, electrophysiology, cardiac rehab, and heart failure) within the Heart and Vascular Center. This role involves being part of a multidisciplinary team, providing direct patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong educational and precepting abilities, and expertise in cardiology and ambulatory care pharmacy services. A dedication to continuous learning and a passion for patient care are essential.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience.
- Graduate of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency or an ASHP accredited postgraduate year two residency relevant to practice area OR have 4 years of pharmacist experience in the relevant area of practice OR have pharmacist experience within a Nebraska Medicine ambulatory care clinic.
- Demonstrate excellence in clinical areas by consistently meeting and contributing to the updating of standards of practice.
- Maturity and leadership skills.
- Licensed in the state of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted upon start or transfer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (required for new hires starting January 1, 2023, or later).

- Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead the provision of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services, including the creation and maintenance of pharmaceutical care plans, cost-effective therapeutic drug monitoring, drug utilization, guideline development, and drug use evaluation within assigned clinical teams.
- Provide training and educational support to enhance the clinical skills of professional staff.
- Disseminate new knowledge, utilization trends, and outcomes information related to medication use and pharmaceutical care programs within the organization.
- Lead efforts to educate other disciplines on the appropriate use of drug therapy.
